Thomas Monter

Thomas C. Monter, age 91 of Canton, passed away at Mercy Hospital of Canton. Tom was born September 30, 1930, in Louisville, Ohio, the son of the late Marvin and Blanche Monter.He was a 1948 graduate of Louisville High School. Tom served in the United States Navy and was the founder and owner of the Monter Masons and Leopard Excavating for over 50 years. He enjoyed all Cleveland sports, golfing and playing cards. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Tom is survived by two sons, Dennis (Teri) Monter and David (Jolette) Monter, both of Louisville; Three Grandchildren, Brian (Nancy) Monter of North Ridgeville, Amy Monter of Green and Matthew Monter of Louisville; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Addison, and Aubryn Monter of North Ridgeville, and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and greatly enjoyed going to the great-grandchildren’s sporting events.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Irene Monter; father, Marvin Monter, mother, Blanche Monter, sisters Jane Monter and Joan Leslie, brother-in-law George Robert Leslie.

Funeral Services for Tom will be for immediate family. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 north Michigan ave., floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
