Robert “Booger” Wehling age 83 of East Canton passed away November 8, 2018 at Aultman Compassionate Care. He was born April 8, 1935 in Canton to the late Andrew and Pearl (Bennett) Wehling. Growing up, Bob was voted Class Clown by his classmates and earned First Place Honors as Ohio Humorous Declamation State Champion in 1953. Bob proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. While stationed in Japan he served as a communications advisor during the capture of the warship Pueblo by the North Koreans. Bob continued his service in the Navy during the Viet Nam War. He was a life member of VFW Post #7490. He and his wife, Dee were avid golfers.
Bob is survived by nephews, Rich Wehling, Gary Wehling and Mark Yovanovich; nieces, Christine Yovanovich and Cindy Yovanovich; grandchildren, Andrew Wehling, Amanda Wehling and Ryan Scheevel and extended family members, Lora Callahan and Carol Wolfe.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Delores “Dee”; son, Paul Wehling; brothers, Blake, Carl and Jim and sisters, Elizabeth and Jean.
Bob’s family will receive friends Tuesday from 10-11:30 am at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home and interment with full military honors will follow in Union Cemetery.
