Mary Louise F. Haren

d. March 5, 2022

Mary Louise F. Haren, 66, passed away at home early Saturday morning, March 5, 2022, after a brief illness. Known at work as Mary, she was “Lulu” to her family.

Lulu was born on April 21, 1955, in Canton, Ohio, to Mary Rose (Cachat) and Michael S. Haren.  After initial training at Southgate school in the late 1960s, she was employed at Canton Southgate, Cohen-Joliet and Whipple Dale workshops. In more recent years, she became a gifted artist, and her earlier art pieces virtually flew off the shelves at the Just Imagine Gift Gallery.

Lulu greeted everyone with a smile, loved rock and roll, and danced at every opportunity. She looked forward to visiting with the public at Just Imagine on First Fridays in the Canton Arts District, and from time to time would represent the gallery at other public functions. She was proud to have her T-shirt design chosen in 2016 for the annual Great Pumpkin Race, and to be featured on billboards for the

campaign in 2016. She was a joy to be around, had an infectious grin and will be greatly missed.

Lulu was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her siblings, Michael, Mary Anne, John (Kathy), Mary Rose (John DeShazo), Mary Therese, and Mary Pat (Kurt) Reynolds; her niece, Linnea (David) Conely and their children, as well as many cousins.

The family wishes to thank the women and men of Stark DD. Lulu took part in the program for over 50 years, and she dearly loved the many friends and teachers who enriched her life beyond measure. Those experiences, adventures, challenges and rewards allowed her talents to blossom and her spirit to thrive.

A private funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 10, at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.  In Lulu’s memory, donations may be sent to the Just Imagine Gift Gallery, 201 6
