James T. Ashcraft

October 24, 1943 — February 1, 2024

Louisville

Jim “Tom” Ashcraft was born in Peora, West Virginia on October 24th, 1943. He went home to be with the Lord on February 1st, 2024. Jim was the son of George and Teresa Georgia Ashcraft. After leaving West Virginia he came to Ohio for work and later married his beloved wife, Judy. He retired from the Hoover Company after 37 years. He enjoyed meeting and having lunch with the Hoover employees every month.

Tom was hard working. He loved woodworking, enjoyed riding motorcycles and was always trying to race people in his truck. He’d take off down the road leaving the unknowing participant in his dust. Tom loved being with his family. He cared deeply for his family and always made sure everyone was taken care of. He was a provider, a loving husband, an involved father, playful grandfather, and friend. He never met a stranger.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Rhonda Ashcraft, grandchildren Jessica (Aaron) Peck, Emily Ashcraft, Kyle (Anna) Ashcraft, James Ashcraft, and Madeline Ashcraft. His daughter-in-law Christina Ashcraft along with his great-grandchildren Emmett, Rosaleigh, and Henry Peck. His brothers David (Nancy) Ashcraft, Roger (Betsy) Ashcraft. Sisters Mary King, Sue Smith, Rosanna Hunter, and Shirly Ashcraft.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his bride of 53 years Judy, son James Ashcraft Jr., great-granddaughter Evangeline Peck, brothers Bud and Charles Ashcraft and sister Pat Ashcraft. Brothers-in-law Lester Smith, Bill King, and Ray Conley. And sister-in-law Annabel Conley.
